Friends of Nathaniel Witherell is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors and verterans at The Nathaniel Witherell, a not-for-profit skilled nursing and rehabilitation center in Greenwich, Connecticut. Since our founding in 2004, we have been committed to providing support that goes beyond essential care, fostering a vibrant and enriching environment for all seniors and aging adults who call The Witherell home.
Our Greatest Impact Includes:
- Raised more than $10 million from more than 3,500 donors to support our valuable work.
- Successfully applied for The Nathaniel Witherell to be added to the National Registry of Historic Places.
- Played a critical role in securing a $4.4 grant and a $129,156 energy credit for the exclusive benefit of The Nathaniel Witherell.
- Supported the construction of a new 30,000 square foot short-term rehabilitation center and updated, modernized, and expanded common areas and aging adult living areas.
- Friends funded the Friendship Garden specifically designed to enhance seniors' and veterans' sensory perception.
- Working with one generous donor, Friends funded the renovation of the facility’s auditorium, the main space for recreational activities.
